Saturday June 28, 2014 marked the inaugural running of the Swissvale Mile. This is a family-friendly and pet-friendly fundraiser for the Swissvale K-9 unit. For a first-time event, there was a nice turnout (both the two-legged and four-legged variety) and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The walk through the streets of Swissvale was led by Swissvale's K-9 officer, Brando (pictured at left).
